February 2016 update

The trustees of Care for Uganda have recently completed the Strategic Development Plan 2016-18.

 

The trustees of Care for Uganda have recently completed the Strategic Development Plan 20016-18.

Here is a summary of the main aims.

 

 

Education

·      Provide more scholarships and scholastic materials to school aged children as and when new sponsors are available in the UK.

·      Provide scholarships for vocational training where appropriate as and when new sponsors are available in the UK.

·      Build a classroom at Luwero boys school for the special needs unit. Equip new sensory room.

 

Health

·      Distribute more mosquito nets to the “needy” in the community to curb incidences of malaria.

·      Sensitise community on health care and sanitation.

·      Assist in the funding and construction of tippy taps.

·      Give support to health centres

·      Monitor recently trained Village Health Teams

·      Train more Village Health Teams 

·      Carry out more hernia operations at Bishop Caesar Asili hospital in Luwero

 

Production and Income generation

·      Continue supporting the ongoing family livestock and integrated community development project and train beneficiaries to manage them effectively in order to fight poverty and improve nutrition.

·      Promotie voluntary work in the community such as knitting blankets for vulnerable children.

 

Develop Partnerships

·      Continue to develop existing partnerships with national government, Luwero district and Buganda kingdom to assist in community regeneration.

 

 

Security wall

The piece of land adjacent to our accommodation block in Bbowa has recently been cleared and cultivated. This has left the site a little exposed, therefore we are constructing a security wall.
